ABOUT THE PLUSH

Are Dinosaur Plush ASTM F963 Compliant?

Yes! Our Character plush are made with partners who conform to ASTM F963 regulations for consumer products in the Toy Category. All our handmade plush are made with F963 compliant stuffing and safety eyes.

What is Anti-Pill Fleece?

Anti-Pill Fleece is a type of synthetic material that is brushed on one side to prevent pilling. Our material differs from open market fur, typically used in toy manufacturing, in that it's graded for apparel use. We use apparel grade fleece for its durability, washability, comfort, and its use of skin-safe dyes (since we expect our dinosaurs to be hugged often!)

Are Plush made with Safety Eyes or Button Eyes?

All plush are made using plastic safety eyes. This means each eye has a backing on the inside of the toy that is designed so it cannot be removed. Our handmade plush have hand-assembled safety eyes, if an eye pops out for any reason, you can send your plush back to have it replaced.

If fleece is made of plastic, how is the material sustainable?

Most fleece fabrics are made from synthetic material, including plastic or polyester. Our fleece is made in Canada from recycled plastics including used water bottles that have been cleaned and dyed and turned into a soft fiber safe to have against the skin.

Are you attending craft fairs?

Happy Dinosaur has occasional event retail pop ups at our brick and mortar store partners in Upstate New York and Connecticut but typically do not attend weekly craft fairs in the Festival Season. We have done some fairs including Girl Gang Craft Events and Holiday Markets, to see when we attend fairs, follow us on Instagram!

Are you attending trade shows like ASTRA or Toy Fair NY?

2025 will be our first year attending toy trade shows! We are super excited to be attending ASTRA in Texas this year June 1-4.

Who is making your handmade plush?

Me! Founder, Lyla Andrick, makes all handmade plush including our limited edition plush, PlusH size dinosaurs, and custom Design-Your-Saurs.

What is Ramapo?

Ramapo is an organization in New York that supports children and young adults with a wide range of disabilities. Happy Dinosaur supports the Work Assistance Program by offering vocational training to neurodivergent students.

How often do you donate to HuskyTHON?

Happy Dinosaur supports HuskyTHON several times a year, including in March at their Dance Marathon and their Fall Festival. HuskyTHON is a University of Connecticut program that raises money year round for Connecticut Children's Center. In 2024 we donated 20% of our campus retail sales (over $1000) and in 2025 we hope to donate even more!
